one year of | treschic!

got the last bit of daylight with these photos! I literally got out of the shower and took these.

Last year in a spur of the moment after christmas boredom I created treschic. I never expected anything, just a little hobby that I could do in my free time. I never expected how much I would love blogging and just the whole blog world in general. There are so many amazing blogs that I follow and nothing inspires my style more than all the amazing bloggers of who's blogs I read every day. I couldn't be happier with starting my blog a year ago today. It was one of the best decisions to this date. So thank you, thank you to my followers for following me, and thank you to the people who I follow for being so gosh darn inspiring and cool.

as of lately | christmastime

as of lately..

I'm on break and loving every minute of not having to do anything

I am finding out of focus pictures of the Christmas tree better than focused ones 

I'm wishing for a white Christmas, when in reality thats not going to happen 

I have been sleeping in until around 11 and I have no idea when come january third I am going to be able to get out of bed at seven 

I've finished all my Christmas shopping! 

I have my temps! YAY.

I now have one hour out of the 50 required driving hours to get your license

I'm really wanting this camera.. does anyone have it? Is it a good camera? It's cheaper than the d3100 so thats a plus..

9/11 memorial 

New York was amazing. I had never been before. We went at such a good time because it wasn't too cold but all the Christmas decorations were up. 5th avenue is truly captivating. We mostly went shopping.. YAY haha my dad was not as enthusiastic as we were. I may or may not have bought four sweaters in two days...

All in all it was truly amazing in a dizzying kind of way.

'e pluribus unum' - 'out of many one'

United States of America. A country. My country. A place that I love, no matter how many times I say I want to live somewhere else. America is such a great place, even though I may be biased. Our motto e pluribus unum 'out of many one', is such a true statement, so many different people coming together as one, thats what America is. We're still a young country, but we've gotten through a lot and we won't forget, we can't forget. Never in my life have I felt so patriotic, just going to DC (albeit, it was my fourth time), seeing all of those monuments, made me realize, USA is a place to be proud of living in. 

I thought about deleting the above paragraph. I don't know.. These last two months have just been kinda off. So much work so little time. Agh. Next wednesday and thursday I have 3 tests and two papers due, fun stuff I tell you, fun stuff. Did average on the PSAT. Darn I need to learn how to care again.

So I bought this skirt in new york city. 

And it was my first topshop experience. 

It was lovely. 

Unfortunately very expensive.

Or else I would have bought more. 

Including a very cute (and short) wrap dress

Mmmmm I wish I loved closer to topshop (and sara)

p.s. today was a no makeup kinda day.. I didn't even brush my hair.. don't judge

the power of a compliment

"word |wərd|nouna single distinct meaningful element of speech or writing, used with others (or sometimes alone) to form a sentence and typically shown with a space on either side when written or printed."

But a word can be so much more. A bad word can cut you like a knife and a good word can turn your day from bad to good. 

And thats why I believe in the power of a compliment. Recently, I have decided to leave nice messages for people on their tumblrs or formsprings or whatever. Being nice just to be nice, good idea right? Yes, it was such a good idea. Just the possibility that I might make someones day and turn their frown into a smile is enough for me to take five or ten minutes of my day to write them a nice note. 

It's the holiday season, and as far as I'm concerned, that's the best gift that I could ever give to someone.
